If you used to live in a big city, Augusta might not offer a lot of places to eat and drink. But for us, Augustians, who love the slow pace of a smaller city, this is perfect.

While I don’t drink much, I’ve noticed that Augusta has quietly built a happy hour scene worth planning your week around, from speakeasy cocktails on Broad Street to award-winning porches in Evans and ballpark-side bars across the river in North Augusta.

We rounded up the spots locals actually go to, with the days, times, and deals I could confirm. A quick word to the wise before you head out: happy hour schedules change on a whim, and downtown’s Broad Street construction has scrambled a few hours. When a time or price really matters, give the place a quick call. Now, let’s get to it.

Downtown Augusta

Solé1033 Broad Street
A vibrant downtown tapas-and-sushi spot with a patio and a late-night streak (the bar runs until 2 a.m. on weekends). Happy hour lands Monday through Friday, 4–7 p.m., but the real draw is the rotating daily specials: $5.50 select sushi rolls on Mondays, buy-one-get-one 50% off select rolls on Wednesdays, and half-price wine bottles on Thursdays from 4–8 p.m. Ask about the Jalapeño Grapefruit Moscow Mule.

Craft & Vine1204 Broad Street
Augusta’s moody little Art Deco speakeasy, tucked into the Frog Hollow family of restaurants. The cocktails are serious and the small plates come off a wood-fired oven. The catch is the schedule — it’s open Wednesday through Saturday, with two happy hour windows each night: 5–6:30 p.m. and again 9–10 p.m. (Wed–Thu) or 10–11 p.m. (Fri–Sat).

That late window is a genuinely civilized way to cap off a night downtown.

Tipsey McStumbles214 7th Street
It is important to highlight that, to some, the servers are dressed provacative. Something like Hooters or Twin Peaks.

A casual, come-as-you-are Irish-style pub with 18 beers on tap, a wall of bottles, darts, and a jukebox. Happy hour runs daily, 4–9 p.m. — one of the longest in town — with nightly drink specials that rotate, so there’s always a reason to pop in.

The Loft927 Broad Street
Equal parts bar and nightclub, with billiards, karaoke, and the occasional live jazz set. Happy hour is Monday through Saturday, 4–8 p.m. — a solid early-evening landing spot before the music picks up.

West Augusta & Surrey Center

World of Beer2819 Washington Road
A craft-beer cathedral with a deep tap list and a kitchen that punches above its weight. This is one of the most reliably specific happy hours in town: Monday–Friday, 3–7 p.m. (plus a late-night round Sunday–Thursday, 10 p.m.–close), with $4 select drafts, $6 select spirits, $6 select wines, and $6–$7 shareables. Don’t miss Burger Monday at $9.95. One catch — you’ll need to be seated at the bar or a high-top to get the deals.

Finch & Fifth379 Highland Avenue, Surrey Center
An Americana bistro that’s become a true neighborhood hangout, with craft cocktails, artisanal cheese, and clever bar snacks like alligator tacos and Vidalia onion dip. The restaurant’s own posts put happy hour at 3–6 p.m. with select drafts, wine, and cocktails.

Evans & Columbia County

Doc’s Porchside3035 Washington Road and in Grovetown
Voted #1 Best Happy Hour in Columbia County in the 2025 “Best Of” awards, and it earns the title with a lively porch and regular live music. Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday, 3–6 p.m. With an award like that, it’s worth the trip.

North Augusta, SC

Southbound Smokehouse1009 Center Street, at SRP Park
Southern barbecue meets neighborhood cantina, right beside the ballpark in Riverside Village — full bar, live music, and a genuine happy hour. The times aren’t published online, so call (803-349-9306), but the patio-and-a-game-day energy makes it a standout on this side of the river.

The Fine Print

Happy hour is the most changeable thing on any menu — times shift seasonally, specials rotate, and a few of these spots run deals they never bother to post. Treat this as your starting lineup, not gospel, and when in doubt, a 30-second phone call saves a wasted trip. Got a favorite we missed? Tell us — this guide gets better every time a local chimes in.

Cheers, Augusta. 🍻
