This is going to be a tough subject. Burgers are the sweetheart of American cuisine. In fact, when people around the world are asked what food best represents America, the first thing that comes to their mind is the burgers.

But here’s the challenge: how do you rate something so beloved? A burger pairs well with almost anything, and the topping possibilities are nearly endless. Add to that the fact that it’s one of the most comforting foods you can order, and you start to see why opinions run deep.

Ask ten people their favorite burger spot in Augusta, and you’ll likely get ten different answers. Ask ten thousand, though, and patterns begin to emerge. That’s exactly what we’re exploring today—pointing out the trends, while adding a dash of our own experience to the mix.

Whiskey Bar Kitchen

If you know Augusta at all, this option should come as no surprise. With a solid 4.5 starts and over three-thousand reviews on Google, Whiskey Bar has some of the best burgers you can order.

Tucked away on Broad Street, it has the perfect blend of rustic charm and lively energy. Exposed bricks walls lit by warm sconces creates a cozy vibrant atmosphere. One that is very difficult to find in this area.

It comes with an impressive selection of Whiskey, craft cocktails, and draft beer. Sports fan can catch a game on the TV. Whether you are sliding into a booth for an intimate dinner or grabbing a seat at the bar, this establishment has one of the best burgers in town.

My personal favorite: Teriyaki. It comes with fresh grilled pinneaple, smoked gouda, Asian house white on a Brioche bun.

Farmhaus Burger

With two convenient locations—downtown Augusta and Martinez—Farmhaus is always a solid choice for burger lovers. No matter which spot you visit, the experience is equally satisfying.

What makes Farmhaus stand out is its laid-back, casual vibe. You simply walk up to the counter, place your order, and wait for your name to be called—no servers, no fuss, just great food. You can select burgers from the menu or build your own with the plethera of toppings they offer.

And while the burgers are the main attraction, don’t skip the spiked milkshakes. They’re a fun twist on a classic treat and definitely deserve a spot on your Augusta foodie bucket list.

Personal favorite: The Farmstyle with heirloom smoked bacon, smoked gouda cheese, Duke’s mayo (the South’s favorite), topped with a sunny side up local farm egg.

Midtown Tavern

Now, if you are looking for something a little more formal, Midtown Tavern is your spot.

Best burgers in augusta

Tucked away on Central Avenue, Midtown Tavern is more than your typical burger joint. With a full bar pouring some of the best mixed drinks in town, it’s the kind of place where great food meets a lively atmosphere.

The real star here, though, is the burger menu—juicy, flavorful, and crafted to perfection. Whether you’re catching the game on one of the TVs or settling into a cozy table with friends, Midtown Tavern delivers the perfect blend of comfort and excitement.

Personal Favorite: Midtown Burger. Two 4oz patties, American cheese, usual toppings, shaved onions, mids sauce, brioche bun.

Ironwood Tavern

Located in Riverwood Town Center, this is certainly one of the best burgers in the area. With a laid back atmosphere, you might find yourself ordering the brick-oven pizza instead of a burger.

Ironwood Tavern has a variety of drinks along with a large selection of wines. Heads up, the sitting area is small. Depending on the time you come, you will have to wait for a table. Also, the inside can get a little loud because of the tight spaces.

It’s well worth it, though.

Personal Favorite: The Tavern. I couldn’t finish eating it. Bourbon glazed patty topped with fried smoked gouda Mac & cheese, caramelized onions, and beer cheese.

Sports Center

No list of Augusta’s best burgers would be complete without a nod to Sports Center. A true local landmark, this all‑American hamburger joint has been serving the community for decades.

Walking through the doors feels like stepping back in time. The jukebox still stands ready to play your favorite tunes, while the walls are covered in posters and flags that proudly honor the military. The adversting banners give a look and feel that you are in a stadium ready to watch the first pitch.

Add in the warm smiles and genuine Southern hospitality from the staff, and you’ve got an experience that’s every bit as memorable as the burgers themselves.

Personal Favorite: Cheeseburger with all the toppings.

Conclusion

These are some of the highest rated hamburgers in the CSRA. What is your favorite? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
